My Story
Howdy! My name is Emily Jayne Ivy. I am a Junior Marketing Major at Texas A&M University, and loving every moment of it. I am incredibly blessed to come from my particular family of four - my father encourages me in every direction I yearn to soar in, my mother grounds me and reminds me I am allowed to make mistakes, and my brother intellectually challenges me to develop my worldview. As an individual, I am passionate about music, people, creative writing, adventure, and photography.
Let me expand a bit on each of those. I love listening to and creating music, primarily in the alternative/indie/rock genre but I branch out quite a bit. When I say I am passionate about people, I mean one of the things that brings me the most joy in life is watching/listening to people talk about the thing that ignites a fire within them. Relationships with my family and peers are of the utmost importance to me, and I try to strive to be a better friend/sister/daughter/coworker whenever I get the chance. I fully reject the idea that being comfortable is where I want to stay in life - I jump on any chance to travel and go on new adventures, to learn new lessons there, as well as to document as much of it as I can by photographs without forgetting to venture out in front of my lens.
Overall, through the ups and downs, I love my life and all the mistakes I have made within it. Without these lessons, I would not be the person I am today - though I will always be working towards further developing myself to be a more kind, thoughtful, hardworking human.
BELIZE MISSION TRIP, JULY 2018
By: Emily Ivy and James Graham
Song: "Shine on Me", by Dan Auerbach
I shot a good portion of the media for this video throughout my fourth mission trip to Belize with my home church. When my team returned to the United States, I worked with another team member to create this video to be played during our upcoming mission-focused service. I am filled with joy to be able to contribute my talent for photography, designing team shirts, and my love for working with kids each year we return to the Burrell Boom village.
